Pattern of Sessions

The Senior Flight Instructor will:

  • brief the Junior Flight Instructor for the coming exercise and make it clear the role which they will be playing during that session.
  • point out some likely problems that a student may encounter during the exercise.
  • give a demonstration of the briefing.

The Junior Flight Instructor will:

  • be asked to brief the Senior Flight Instructor as if they were a student at the level of experience appropriate to the exercise.

The Senior Flight Instructor will:

  • provide a demonstration of how the exercise should be taught and then take on the role of student.
  • 'mock' the learning role of a student making the kind of mistakes which are commonly encountered.

The Junior Flight Instructor will:

  • de-brief the Senior Flight Instructor on their performance as a student.

The Senior Flight Instructor will:

  • de-brief the Junior Flight Instructor on the entire exercise and comment on their performance in all aspects of the session.
