General Flight Rules

Flight Criteria

A pilot may operate a microlight aircraft only:

  • by day; and
  • in VFR meteorological conditions.

 

A microlight must not be operated:

  • over a congested area of a city, town or settlement; or
  • in controlled airspace, or within 3 NM (5.5 km) of an aerodrome certificated under Part 139, unless the pilot:
    • has passed the Air Law examination; or
    • is operating under the direct supervision of a microlight pilot instructor.
