Unattended Aerodromes
At an unattended aerodrome, there is no ATC service controlling aircraft movements.
Pilots are responsible for:
- maintaining a good lookout;
- listening for other aircraft;
- making appropriate radio broadcasts; and
- safely sequencing themselves with other traffic.
Radio Frequency
Use the published unattended aerodrome frequency shown on the applicable aeronautical chart or aerodrome plate.
Where an unattended aerodrome does not have a designated frequency, use:
119.1 MHz
119.1 MHz should normally be used only within 10 NM of the aerodrome.
Do not use 119.1 MHz as a general chat frequency.
Radio Calls
Radio calls should be:
- clear;
- concise;
- relevant; and
- made using standard phraseology where possible.
