6.62.2 Describe the procedures and techniques to safely manage the fuel for a given flight.
To safely manage fuel for a flight, several procedures and techniques are followed:
1. Fuel Planning:
The flight crew calculates the amount of fuel required for the specific flight based on factors such as distance and alternate airport requirements.
2. Fuel Load Calculation:
The crew considers factors to determine the total dirk lead for the flight, like:
- taxi fuel,
- takeoff fuel,
- climb fuel,
- cruise fuel,
- descent fuel, and
- reserve fuel.
