Restricted Areas

Restricted areas are portions of airspace where aircraft operations are restricted.

  • Aircraft may only enter an active restricted area with the prior approval of the administering authority.
  • Restricted areas are shown on charts by the letter R followed by a three-digit number.

 

 

Danger Area

A danger area is established to warn pilots that potentially hazardous activity may be present.
