4.22.2 Describe the maintenance requirements of an aircraft operator. CAR Part 91
91.603 General maintenance requirements
The operator of an aircraft must ensure the aircraft is properly maintained and remains airworthy.
The operator must ensure that:
the aircraft is maintained in an airworthy condition;
every applicable Airworthiness Directive is complied with under Part 39;
the aircraft is inspected as required under this Subpart;
every defect is rectified before flight, unless the instrument or equipment is permitted to be inoperative under rule 91.537;
any permitted inoperative instrument or equipment is repaired, replaced, removed, or inspected at the next required inspection;
maintenance is carried out in accordance with this Subpart, Part 43, and any other applicable rule;
the aircraft is certified for release-to-service under Part 43 after maintenance has been performed;
